Using your air movers

Blow air across wet carpet and walls so water evaporates in days, not weeks.

Set them up

  1. Place them around the edge of the wet area, about every 10 to 15 feet along the walls.
  2. Aim each one along the wall, all blowing the same direction around the room, like a slow whirlpool. Tilt them so the air skims the floor and the bottom of the wall.
  3. For wet carpet, you can lift a corner and blow air under it (only if the pad has been pulled out or is clean-water wet).
  4. Plug each into its own outlet where you can. Too many on one circuit trips the breaker.

Stay safe

  • Keep cords out of walkways and away from standing water.
  • Don't use air movers on mold or sewage before it's cleaned: moving air spreads spores and bacteria.
  • Keep kids' fingers away from the vents.

While they run

  • Keep them on day and night, with the dehumidifier running and the room closed up.
  • Move them if one spot is drying slower than the rest.

Returning them

Wipe off dust, wrap the cord, and bring them back with the rental pass on your phone.
